Sa’diyah has been studying Middle Eastern dance since 2003, when she took her first class with El Naar Haninah of Gaithersburg and later Amara of Germantown. What started as just a lark with girlfriends has become a true passion. The music and dance spoke to Sa’diyah and it is now one of her greatest joys in life.

Sa’diyah is an excellent teacher, having offered classes through the City of Gaithersburg as well as leading workshops for women interested in a new and beautiful way to exercise. She particularly enjoyed conducting a workshop for a birthday party of thirteen year old girls- sharing her love of the art with enthusiastic and energetic people is one of her favorite perks of being a belly dancer.

Sahara’s Treasure values Sa’diyah’s ability to connect both within and without the community, sharing her deep appreciation for Middle Eastern dance with such friendly altruism as to inspire creative expression in others.
